The Historic Trust always welcomes locals, visitors, and their furry friends to the scenic Officers Row and Historic Reserve neighborhood for walks. This summer, pets and their parents are invited to a free portrait session hosted outside the O. O. Howard House on Saturday, August 10 from 10am to 3pm. Skilled pet portrait photographer Robert Holcomb will capture pooches’ poses with a professional portrait backdrop, and provide free downloads from the Pass Gallery landing page post-event, courtesy of our generous sponsor, Quantum Fiber. No reservations are required, and photos will be taken on a first-come, first served basis. There will be other fun activities as well, including selfie stations, free whipped cream “pup cups” courtesy of Occuscreen, and a patio lounge for relaxing and enjoying food & beverage (for sale).

Pet Portrait Tips

Meet some furry friends from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society (WCGHS), and learn more about becoming an adopter for a pet in search of a healthy life in a new and loving home. Established in 1994, WCGHS provides programs and services that are carried out by a small staff with the support of over 200 volunteers who are dedicated to the welfare of animals in need from our community and beyond. Thousands of pets and people are recipients of our compassionate care and assistance each year.
