Founded in 1992, the Young Eagles program is dedicated to giving youth ages 8–17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. It’s the only program of its kind with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation and today the Young Eagles program has flown over 2 and one half  million youth and counting.  These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA Chapter 782 member volunteers and Columbia Credit Union.

Pearson Field’s annual Young Eagle Rally is done in partnership with EAA  Chapter 782. Prior to meeting their pilot youth will participate in a 45 minute “Ground School Basics” class let by Pearson Field Education Center educators. Space is limited, and siblings will fly in the same aircraft. Youth MUST preregister for this event.
