Chautauqua (pronounced Cha-TALK-WA): Hands-On History in Washington State
May 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
In addition to The Vancouver Chautauqua, a 6-day event in August, there are two smaller Saturday events in May and October entitled ChaTALKwa: Hands on History in Washington State.
In this special two-hour offering, participants will be able to handle scores of objects, artifacts and documents from our regional history including Providence Academy, Buffalo Soldiers, Aviation, the Nez Perce, Historic figures, Health, Military, Spruce Mill, Hudson’s Bay, and a few surprises. Some materials are original and some are replicas, but all have permission to be touched and examined by participants with appropriate archival gloves. Extensive research information is available. All attendees will receive a copy of “Field Findings” to document their explorations. Don’t miss this opportunity to put your hands on some history.
Availability for registration ends May 1st
