Before his untimely death in an Iowa plane crash at the age of 22\, he and his band The Crickets created a series of pop music masterpieces and the template for what a rock band looks and sounds like\, influencing later artists such as Bob Dylan\, Elton John\, and The Beatles. In an evening that combines humor\, toe-tapping\, and tears\, musician and historian Joel Underwood returns to Vancouver to tell the story of Holly’s humble beginnings\, two years as a rock icon\, and sudden\, tragic death in 1959. Who was “Peggy Sue”? What movie inspired “That’ll Be The Day”?
